Jessica Baird the Founder of the Sock Project will entertain the children with a reading of The Socks. This book written Kelly Ann Charleson, who will also join us for this event.
About the book
Little Otter lives with an illness that makes many of her days grey and sad. When her friends start a campaign to bring colour and joy to her days, it becomes a movement that touches animals all throughout the forest. Inspired by The Sock Project of Ottawa, Canada, The Socks is about autoimmune disease, and the power of kindness.(ages 6-11)
The Socks is one of The Woodland Family books, which cover tough topics in a way that children can understand and relate to.
About the Author:
Kelly Ann Charleson is from Ottawa, Ontario. She draws from her work with children and training as a counsellor to create books that feature under represented subject matters, including foster care, adoption and illness.
